Soccer U3 Coed 9:30 AM

Brecksville Soccer Academy

Description:
Tony Niccoli introduced us to this widely acclaimed program, which incorporates all the Best Practices recommended by the US Soccer Association. The written curriculum provides age-appropriate activities based on the cognitive, psycho-motor, psycho-social and emotional stage of each age-group. Each session will be instructed by BSA staff and Brecksville – Broadview Hts. Soccer players.

U3 Academy (ages 3) is a parent-child program for children ages 3-4 who are interested in having fun and learning the fundamentals of soccer. The program allows children the opportunity to work one-on-one with a parent, teaches a variety of soccer skills, offers exercises that become increasingly more challenging as the class progresses children show improvement, and the class is taught with fun, safe, developmentally appropriate equipment. Session A 9:00-9:30 (40 kids max enrollment) Session B 9:30-10:00 (40 kids max enrollment)

U5 Academy (ages 4 and 5) This session is a beginner session focused on active start play and the A,B,C’s of player movement – Agility, Balance, and Coordination. High School players run the group activities designed by Academy Director Karol Boryka. Activities are movement based and begin to show ideas on the flow and technical skills in soccer. The inclusive activities involve running, jumping, throwing, catching, shooting, and balance for skill development for all sports. Soccer game play is done but most games are non-competitive and designed for success for all participants. Kids are encouraged to wear shin pads as they sometimes have collisions. Soccer cleats are allowed but not necessary, turf shoes can be used as well. NO FOOTBALL CLEATS PLEASE. Players should bring a ball. 10:00-11:00 (80 kids max enrollment)

U7 Academy (ages 6 and 7) is an expansion of the U5 academy session but adds the tactical and technical aspect of soccer. High School players oversee the group activities designed by Academy Director, Karol Boryka and participants will engage in small sided games (3v3, 4v4, 5v5). The training will be games-based with a variety of competitive games that will challenge players to learn the tactics of the game—how to get a team shape; how to avoid pressure by passing back; how to defend; how to switch the ball to the side with less pressure. Soccer cleats are allowed but not necessary turf shoes can be used as well. NO FOOTBALL CLEATS PLEASE. Players should bring a ball. 11:00-12:00 (100 kids max enrollment)

U8 Academy (ages 7 and 8) combines all the aspects of U5 & U7 sessions and adds a layer of traditional game play that stresses individual player development and team concepts. The style of play is indirect and creative play will be encouraged. Players will be exposed to tactical concepts and formations in a game. Players will be trained to keep the ball and try dribbling skills and individual creativity needed to play. This level will offer one weekly practice and one small sided game on Saturdays vs. Shaker Hts. & White Caps Soccer Clubs. All games and practices are played at Blossom Hill Turf. Teams will mix weekly to play and experience the game of soccer. Shin guards and soccer specific shoes are strongly recommended. Players should bring a ball. Friday evening practices begin September 5th, 5:30pm-6:30pm. Saturday 12:00-1:30 4v4 Games (40 Kids max enrollment)
